06/22/2008 7:04 PM - I took a day off from wearing a neck tie and staring at financial statements last week to watch the Texas Rangers Area Code Games team tryouts at Blinn College in Brenham. For the first time since I started attending the tryouts 5-6 years ago, the hitting outmatched the pitching. There were some good-looking arms, to be sure, but the position guys were awfully impressive - particularly Austin McCallum outfielder Everett Williams, who put on a show with a 6.6 60-yard dash time and awesome bat speed.
